Pre-Production_02


I'm filming tomorrow and my actress has only just informed me that she has work on the 12th which means I need to find someone quickly as I will be going to Suffolk on the 13th to then film Ewan's production.

I didn't know whether to change the date of filming to a week later this would mean that I would be filming during study week. The biggest con I can think of if we were to film next week would be that I could potentially get the actors sorted, however, I wouldn't have a camera operator as Ewan will be staying in Suffolk during study week. This means that the best option for me is to try and find someone to film on the 12th.

I knew that the best option to do was to ask the class to see if they had any actress that would be willing to be in my production. I messaged the group and got a reply from Alix, the only problem was that Alix was currently filming at Vinters park with her. Due to my rushing around stressing I decided the best thing to do was to message her and see.



As you can see I was lucky enough that Beth was willing to play the role of Jenny, which was a big relief because I was worried about the other actress not having blonde hair and looking like the character I wanted for the role. With this new information, I was informed that Alix had gone off to lunch, which meant I only had a few crucial minutes with this new actress to try and confirm times, location and costume.

I still want the same costumes that I asked Lauren for and luckily Beth said she has a few options so when I come to filming on the 12th I have a few options to decided on what I want in my version of the scene.

  Dig Your Own Grave (2018) ​ For the final analysis, I have found a film called Dig Your Own Grave which is another short film. Yet again I will be looking and analysing points for the film through the eyes of a DoP, which means that I will focus on framing, camera movement, lighting, and the equipment used. This film is very different from the two I have already looked at and has a more comedic tone throughout. Production - Production development

Project Development In this blog post, I will be covering the key moments of change within our production leading up to shoot week, shoot week, and post-production. I will be covering moments where I discovered something that could potentially improve our film.  Location change and script changes that affected me The first major change that happened during this production was the fact that our producer and director felt that our film was too optimistic. The original script included multiple locations and very complex VFX shots, which were well above our skill level. This change would really affect the progress of the work I have done up until this moment. Due to location changes and the script having changes meant that the location paperwork for the locations up until then have now become obsolete.
